If you've ever thought that the little things don't count, think again...
I went into a new Borders bookstore yesterday to treat myself to a coffee and relax after a day of writing. I wandered around hoping to soak up all the knowledge in the books through osmosis.
The store had a great setup with a little digital station right in the center where people could listen to music and even create their own CD or hop on a computer and browse the Borders website. The store had that "new store" energy surrounding it. I loved it. Until I went into the bathroom...
Ok, in retrospect it probably wasn't that bad. It was just a bunch of toilet paper. It could've been worse! I will give Borders credit for having one of these steps for shorter people or kids to stand on as they wash their hands...
What little things do you pay attention to when you enter a store?

I notice if the front door is clean and if the floor is vacuumed! Oddly enough our local Border's can't seem to keep the bathroom clean either, and the air is always stale in there!
