For a little inspiration/motivation on this beautiful Friday, I thought I'd share some thoughts from a recent blog post from James Arthur Ray:
"So find your purpose and your passion, and follow it with excellence. Do for the sake of "doing" versus "getting." Do it very well, and the money will follow in avalanches of abundance as a by-product."
As I've said before, the reason why customer service has declined is because people aren't doing what they're passionate about. For more inspiration from James Ray, check out this video about the padlock of success...
Think about the last time you walked into a place of business and the person helping you seemed uninterested and was talking in scripts. Did you buy anything from this person? Now think about the last time you interacted with a salesperson or customer service rep who was upbeat, cheerful, and acted like you were the only customer they had. They showed passion and excitement about their work...and they were interested in what you had to say...How much money did you spend with them?

Here's another great article that will inspire you. Part of it talks about loving your customer...

That just didn't cut it for me. If all solutions were to give people the combination/answer, then we'd all do it. The problems occur when no one knows the combination.
I especially didn't like the demeaning way he told Christine to "stay". She was not a pet animal.
