When you work in retail and have to sell many products, one of the major details you have to deal with is pricing and signage.  This includes making sure the visual merchandising is appealing, there is enough inventory, and that everything is where it's supposed to be.  After all, the objective is to create a seamless shopping experience.  However, as Glenn Ross points out, there are times when a lack of signage can hinder the customer experience. 

I had a similar experience today when I was shopping for rechargeable batteries in a drug store.  I noticed a row of rechargeable batteries next to the cameras, but didn't see the AAA batteries that I wanted.  I decided that I would just go to another store to see if they had them there.  Well, as I started to make my way to the check-out counter, I went down an aisle and happened to come across another section of batteries.  Of course, I should have simply asked someone who worked there to help me out when I couldn't find what I needed, but what happens when it's busy and there are no employees nearby to ask?
