A couple days before Christmas I walked into the Apple store in the Fashion Valley Mall here in San Diego and was greeted by two people within 30 seconds of walking into the store. There was a sea of customers wandering around checking out all the gadgets and even more "red shirts" (all the employees were wearing red shirts) making sure that the customers were being taken care of.
I stood in the middle of the store and started counting red shirts ... 1,2,3 .... 30,31,32...
Now perhaps there were so many red shirts because of the Christmas season, but it does illustrate to me the company's dedication to the idea that no person should have to wait to be serviced. And another thing - open on Christmas Day?
