Although the day after Thanksgiving is a big shopping day, the day after Christmas is probably just as busy - people are using their gift cards or exchanging and returning Christmas gifts.  For a customer service rep, the hustle and bustle continues which can leave one frazzled and just a little stressed. 

However, as Yvonne Russell of Small Biz Mentor points out, a friendly face in the Christmas (or post-Christmas) frenzy will be remembered long after Christmas...I agree that if you are more relaxed (or appear to be!), this will create a calmer shopping atmosphere.
