Here at Customers Are Always I often talk about building customer relationships.  However, some of you may ask, Well, what is a customer relationship?

Christopher Carfi of The Social Customer Manifesto shares with us his definition of "customer relationship" and I would agree with what he says.  A relationship whether its with a  customer, relative, friend, or spouse is one in which you connect at a deeper level.  It goes beyond the "transaction". It's about getting to know someone besides their first and last name. 

If I could give my own very simple definition of "customer relationship" it would be:  an ongoing conversation with a customer
