In honor of spooky Halloween that we're celebrating here in the U.S. today, I decided to continue the theme of "Toilet Terror" that Linda Tischler started over at the Fast Company blog.
There's one place in San Diego that has the most disgusting bathroom: The San Diego Sports Arena (enter scary music). On the weekends I sometimes go to the flea market which takes place in the sports arena parking lot. If you have to use the restroom, well, you either have to use the porta-potties outside or the sports arena restroom. Since I have a slight phobia of small, enclosed places, I don't have much of a choice.
I don't have a picture of the women's restroom, so I'm just going to have to describe what it feels like when you enter this terror zone. All I can say that it feels like a sewer dungeon and you can smell the stench even before you walk into the restroom. I don't even want to attempt to give you an image of some of the things I've seen in there and it probably hasn't been remodeled in 20-30 years. All the ickiness that's embedded into the cracks on the floor!
One day while I was in the sewer dungeon a woman turned to me and said, "And to think, they actually have concerts here at the Sports Arena!" I've often wondered what the owners of the arena are doing with the money they make - definitely not upgrading the bathrooms!

Maria,
It sounds like the kind of restoom where you practice your hover technique - you don't dare touch anything so you forced to just hover. Not pleasant.
