Are you a Bank of America (Nasdaq: BAC) customer? Perhaps you would be interested in reading this article, A Call to Close 1 Million Bank of America Accounts.
Yes, it is disturbing to know that Bank of America fires employees because they didn’t meet their quotas. I’ve actually worked in a very similar situation. When I was working at Wells Fargo (a very short year with them), the manager was always on our case to “cross sell” credit cards and other accounts. We had to ask every single customer if they wanted to apply for a credit card. ![]()
Fortunately, my bank manager was a little understanding when I explained to him that “No” means “No”. You can’t force customers to sign up for other accounts - no matter how many times you ask them.
Anyhow, as a Bank of America customer, I have experienced the pleading of tellers desperately wanting me to open up another account. Now I understand.
I have thought about banking with a local credit union instead…Now that I’ve read this, I may just do that.

Thank you for bringing attention to my wife's situation. She thankfully gave notice yesterday before they marred her record with a firing and found a new job that wants her to start on Monday.
They are trying to do her a favor and give her the "opportunity" to work for a 2 week notice so she can be re-hired. Just what she had in mind!
BoA - take a hike!
