For a Better Experience, This Is the One Thing a Restroom Should Have

National Kitchen and Bath Month logoOctober is National Kitchen and Bath month and those of you long-time readers may remember how some of us customer service bloggers celebrated - yes, the Bathroom Blogfest! This week is the second annual Bathroom Blogfest and there's a great lineup of bloggers participating in this year's event in which we talk about the restroom experience from all different types of perspectives.  After all, the customer experience does include what happens in the bathroom!

To kick off my series of contributions to the Blogfest, I'd like to share a recent experience I had at the Las Americas outlet in San Diego...

It was a great day of finding bargains and as much as I hate having to stop for a bathroom break, I couldn't hold it much longer.

Bathroom.jpgI had several shopping bags with me and usually I'm pretty apprehensive about taking bags into a public bathroom stall - especially when there isn't a hook on the back of the door to hang bags.  Setting the bags on the floor can be a bit tricky especially if it's wet!  However, thankfully, my boyfriend was holding my bags while I used the restroom.

The first thing I noticed when I walked into the stall is the little nook in the wall and the hook for my handbag.  The mall designers of Las Americas get plus points for that!

I can't remember where I was, but one day I was in the bathroom of a store that didn't have hooks to hang your bag.  Ok, so it wouldn't be such a bad thing to have to carry my bag as I used the restroom, but when you're talking comfort level, well...

Maria, every mall and airport bathroom should have an arrangement like that!

Wow. Not only a hook, but a *built in* shelf. That's sweet!

Maria,

That's a great photo. All bathrooms need that type of area. I've been in too many lately that had no hook at all.

Sandy

that is one of my favorite episodes. Nothing more frightening than no toilet tissue. That's why ALWAYS go in packin'! Great post.
