That's what my step-mother said to a customer the other day. Have you ever had that experience? Have you ever given your all to help someone, but they're still cranky?
Well, after my step-mother said that to her customer, the customer lightened up and apologized for being cranky. "I've had a long day..." was the excuse.
Many times people take it personal when a customer seems a bit agitated or impatient. However, perhaps if you just stopped to ask them, "What can I do to make your day better?", maybe that would help ease some of that stress a customer may be feeling.
When I used to get disgruntled customers I would rant to my co-workers. "That customer was such a pain in the a**!" I would then be in such a lousy mood for the rest of the day. So, for those of you who have had this same experience, my customer service tip for the day would be: Don't allow cranky customers affect you. Shake off their negative energy. Better yet, do something to change their mood. Do something to put a smile on their face! Then do something to put a smile on your face ;)
Don't become jaded.
