As I was cleaning my bathroom yesterday, I noticed a little soldier ant scurrying across the floor. I call these ants that venture off by themselves the "soldier ant". Well, I decided to leave the ant alone because I figured he wouldn't find anything worth telling the rest of the colony about.
A couple hours later I go back into the bathroom and there are hundreds of ants all over the tub. Whatever the soldier ant experienced must have been so exciting because the Queen Ant even came out to find out what the big deal was.
I'm fascinated with ants' system of communication. In just a matter of hours they can get the whole colony to a piece of food. Bloggers are much the same way. They have the technology of the internet and can use it to tell a story of bad service. In a matter of minutes, thousands of people around the country - if not the world - could read about the awful customer service experience one received from your company. The only prevention you have against a blogger's complaint is to simply offer great customer service to each and every customer. There's no way around it.
On the other hand, if you give phenomenal customer service, you could turn a blogger into a customer evangelist. Those are the bloggers you'll love because you get free marketing for your business!
