For many years I wondered what the big attraction to Apple was. I used an Apple during college and back then an Apple computer was "just a computer". I have to give credit to Steve Jobs and his team for coming up with this strategy to keep their customers loyal. InsideCRM defines their view of 12 Effective Strategies Apple Uses to Create Loyal Customers [Hat tip to Rich McIver]. Here's the big standout for me:
Products that deliver: Apple carefully considers what consumers are looking for, so its products are a result of both extensive research and strong design. This meticulous planning is a large contributor to Apple's high customer-satisfaction rates. It's plain and simple: robust and easy-to-use products not only make your customers happy, but also make them want to buy more products from you in the future.
Well, hopefully the $100 credit to early iPhone adopters will keep customers loyal. As for me, I'm a very late adopter, so it may be another year before I even buy an iPhone...or an iPod for that matter!
For fun I thought I'd share this old Apple commercial from 1984 I came across at YouTube...
