In a time of mass consumerism, we've become this throw-away society. If something breaks, well, we'll just throw it away and buy something new. We certainly don't expect a retailer to exchange or give us credit for something - especially if we've had it for more than 30 days and the receipt is long gone.

However...this story over at
The Solutionist has restored my faith that yes, it is possible! There are companies out there that understand what it means to give the customer the benefit of the doubt
. How many companies do you know would have done what
Smith Optics did? How many companies do you know offer lifetime warranties on their products?
I took a look at Smith Optics' website and on the customer service page it says:
"Smith Optics prides itself in providing exemplary Customer Service. Complete customer satisfaction is our foremost goal." Remember yesterday when I said you need to
stand behind the statements that you make? Well, obviously Smith Optics does "get it".
Wow...it feels good to write about a good customer service story. It's been awhile!
