
This got me thinking about many of the companies that I call here in the U.S...When I call customer service, most of the time there is an option to hear instructions in Spanish - which is understandable, there are many Mexicans here in the U.S. However, what about the rest of the immigrants? I know that there is a large population of Filipino, Vietnamese, and Chinese people in San Diego, so why not accommodate them as well?
I know that many companies with an online presence offer the option to view the website in different languages. Companies like Audi and Ikea come to mind. I think it should apply to phone service as well. Granted, you can't hire people who represent every country in the world, but analyzing your customer data and finding out the languages that the majority of your customers speak is a start.
