I'll be honest and say that I wasn't always a happy camper when I worked in customer service. All the Don't Do's that I talk about here - well, I've probably done about 90% of them! However, I finally took a step back from the chaos and realized that I wasn't going to be happy until I was doing something that I loved. Well, that's when I found my zest, my passion - which was creating art and writing.
I'm still helping people now - just on my own terms and in a setting that highlights my unique talents. It's wonderful when you can look at your work and say that you truly enjoy it and that you love helping people. I know that some of you who have been interviewed for a customer service job have told the interviewer, "I love helping people" just so you could get the job. And sure, that may be true, but are you going to be doing something you love....absolutely, absolutely love?
I know that I keep coming back to this subject over and over again, but I think it's the only way that customer service is going to improve in this country. You need to really dig deep within to find out what is going to make YOU happy. Either that or look at what you're doing and find meaning in it. That's the only way that your job or life is going to get better...

Great points Maria! If you're not doing what makes you happy, it's important to examine WHY you're doing it? Love can't be forced, it must be there, or you must change your definition of the love you speak of.
