The One Thing That Scares Customers Away

Last week I mentioned that I started reading a new book titled How to Talk to Customers…Well, today I came across an interesting survey that was mentioned in the book.  450 executives were asked the most common reasons why a customer stopped doing business with their company and this is what they found out:

Death - 1%
A move or relocation - 2%
A relationship with a salesperson - 4%
Price and other relevant costs - 11%
Dissatisfaction with the product - 14%
Attitude of indifference from someone representing the company - 68%

For those of you who have been reading this blog for quite some time you probably aren’t surprised by these numbers!  

As an executive of a company, it’s your responsibility to motivate employees and create a work environment that puts a smile on your employees’ faces.  It’s all about the good energy that uplifts people and inspires them to want to do a good job for you.  It starts with you!  If you’re indifferent towards your employees, that trickles down and affects how your employees interact with your customers…

Right on. Find the employees who are the right fit for your company and then treat them like STARS! They will, in turn, treat your customers like STARS! Treat them with indifference...and well....
