Sprint Makes the Top 10 List...On the Hall of Shame

MSN Money asked their readers to share their worst customer service experiences and the graphic on the right tells us who the top 10 companies were - the top 10 in bad customer service, that is!

Are you surprised by the results?  I’m not.  Go ahead and do a blog search on “Sprint Customer Service”.  You’ll find dozens upon dozens of horror stories.  Hmmm, do you think Sprint cares?  What has their media people been up to?  Are they even tuned into the internet?

Well, it does seem like the company is addressing their customer service issues which have stemmed from the merge with Nextel.  According to a Sprint spokeswoman, one example of progress is a three-page bill versus the previous six pages in addition to a “Buzz About Wireless” forum where you can post your issues and connect with other Sprint customers.

That’s all fine and dandy, but can you fix your customers' issues when they call you with a problem?

Thanks for sharing these survey results Maria. I have to ask myself if I was the CEO of one of those companies, what would I think? Hopefully I'd get mad enough to do something about the situation.

Most of those companies are so huge (or in monopoly situations) where they feel its cheaper to not keep all their customers happy. That's a shame!

Joe,

Hopefully we can change all that by spreading the word and letting these companies know that we're not going to put up with their you-know-what anymore ;)

Just thought you should know this tidbit......Sprint/Nextel failed to make their payroll on August 10. Employees were told it was a glitch in the payroll system, and nationwide, but that all employees would have their pay by 4:00pm, 07/10/07. No way, it was over one week for many and as far as bounced checks, a letter from Sprint is forthcoming to reverse charges. No one was paid on August 10! If the banks fail to honor the letter from Sprint-Teletech, too bad. And Sprint-Nextel and their co-horts Teletech (the call center for Nextel) wonder why customer service is so bad. Also, forgot to mention, people were told to get to work and anyone who did not would be fired. Many were fired that day. In Va, personnel were told it was a right to work state and they HAD to work without pay. One person who had lost her spouse and is no a single parent was told to find a new spouse in case this happens again so that she has two paychecks coming in. Some company!

Employees have been suffering from shoddy payroll for over a year and a friend who is training an ex-Sprint employee that used to work in payroll in Kansas City said she thinks that they purposely screw up payroll because they have to float money to cover payroll. My husband's $3K check bounced this last payperiod. They need to worry less about Nascar, and new arenas in downtown KC and pay their employees - I wish the media would take this and investigate esp. as Gary Forsee is on his way out with a package that is between 8-9 figures. Bastard

For those of you who have been reading this blog for awhile you know that I’ve been paying close attention to Starbucks and the airlines these past few months.  I’m a little tired of blogging about them, so I’m going... [Read More]
