This article at Bloomberg says that Federated Department Stores (FD) will be eliminating those coupons we always see in the newspaper.  The company wants customers to be hooked on consistent prices instead.  

Amen!

Coupons are frustrating to deal with - especially when you get to the store and realize that you forgot the coupon at home!  Then you stand there and beg and plead for the cashier to give you 15% off because you forgot your coupon.  Eliminate all that hassle…Why not just throw up an ad saying that everything is 15% off that day and call it a day?  

Will customers flee to Kohl’s or JCPenney’s now that Macy’s will cut out the cut outs?  Not if Macy's amps up their customer service!
