Being inspired and actively engaging with customers is one of the cornerstones of good business.  Therefore, it’s important to hire people who are inspired, but not necessarily motivated.  I would rather choose someone who is inspired rather than motivated.  I'll explain why in a moment…but first, let’s define these two words:

Inspired: Moved by or as if by a divine or supernatural influence.
Motivated: provided with a motive or given incentive for action

Being inspired is having the spirit, passion and energy to pursue a goal.  When someone is inspired, they take action and are more creative.  However, being motivated merely suggests that you want to do something - you have a motive, a goal - but it doesn’t necessarily mean you take action all the time.
