When I go for my daily walks with the dog, I am in awe of all the blooming flowers around me. The colors are vibrant and of course I have to stop and smell the roses!
The owners of these gorgeous gardens spent some time cultivating these flowers - watering and fertilizing them - some of them probably started growing them when they were mere seeds...![]()
But now, well, the owners are enjoying the fruits of their labor because these flowers are giving them beauty to look at on a daily basis!
Our relationships with customers are much the same as planting those seeds in the ground. Sometimes it takes months for those relationships to bloom, but oh, when they do!
Steve Harper says this in his latest newsletter:
"Most new connections are very much like a seed. If you treat it as if it has the potential for life it will grow. If you cultivate the right environment for it, plant it and care and feed it, like a real seed the roots will take hold and grow strong and the relationship will sprout forth and thrive. But just like with any seed, handling them wrong or carelessly will never foster real growth nor ever encourage them to blossom to its fullest potential."
Steve also has a great post about customer service and how it's critical to success...

Maria,
You honor and humble me with your mention of my newsletter and BLOG. Thank you so much!
I referenced your site as an example of customer service inspiration for my State of Texas training two weeks ago. I should have emailed you and told you that before now. Thirty lashes with a wet noodle when and if we finally meet in person.
Thanks again for making my weekend.
Take care and as always....
Ripple On!!!
Steve
