Somestimes a simple thank you is enough to give someone the motivation and energy to keep going. Many of us complain quite a bit about the bad customer service we receive, but have we given any thought to those people who have been good to us?
Today my boyfriend and I went to Wienerschnitzel for lunch. The moment we walked into the restaurant, I immediately noticed how clean it was. It just seemed to shine in there. As my boyfriend paid the cashier, he said, "You guys do a great job of keeping this place clean. Whenever I come in here it is always clean." The cashier's face lit up and he said, "Thank you, man. We really do try to keep this place clean!"
Who knows, that single moment of recognition from my boyfriend could have been
the trigger to inspire that person to keep doing a good job.
People like to be recognized...whether it be face to face, by email, or even in a blog. Just do something to spread a little more positivity - like my friend, the San Diego chiropractor who dedicated this short and sweet blog post to thank Lenovo.
If you're a manager or business owner, all it takes is ten minutes a day to connect with your employees and tell them how much you appreciate their hard work!

Maria,
Nice post and great message. Thank you!
