The One Reason Why There is Bad Customer Service

The blog over at Bakersfield.com asks the question, How Important Is Customer Service? Well, as many of you regular readers know, customer service is very important. However, sometimes I feel like I’m banging my head against the wall when I read all these stories of bad experiences. How do we get people to understand this basic fundamental in business?

Well, as I watched Oprah’s show today about “The Secrets of My Success“, I came to the conclusion that the reason why we have such terrible service nowadays is that people are not following their dreams and doing what they love. Most people have become sucked into this idea that they have to settle for less and just do something to “get by”. After awhile they just don’t find the job fulfilling anymore - there’s no meaning to it. That’s when bitterness settles in. The majority of this bitterness can be found on the “front lines” where customer service reps are paid low wages and managers are stressed about making their numbers. Does this sound like you?

Don’t let worries about making a living stop you from expressing your true desires in life!  Read What Do You Want in Life? over at SalesMotivation.net to get you going on the road to happiness and doing what you love!

Maria, I have been enjoying your blog for some time now, I guess it's time for me to step out of the shadows and introduce myself ;)

You really struck a chord with this post. I have often wondered what the world would look like if everybody was in their dream job. Sadly, it's probably just a pipe dream, but I figure if each person that can find his or her dream job would make the world that much better, right?

I do a lot of writing and speaking on this very topic (not to mention the emphasis we place on customer service at our online store), so I figured you and your readers might enjoy a few posts I've written on this topic of dream jobs:

Keep up the great job! Cheers!
