Carolyn Manning over at Productivity Goal has a three part series on power napping. So, how does taking a nap have anything to do with customer service?
I don’t know about you, but when I take a nap I feel much better when I wake up. I feel happier and more energized. I’m ready to take on the world and put some
smiles on people’s faces. Did you know that getting restful sleep is correlated to being happy and productive while not getting enough sleep leads to increased irritability and a risk for depression.
The Nordstrom that I worked at had a little nap room with a cot if any of us needed some rest. However, many of us chose the comfy couch in the employee lounge instead ;)

Hey Maria. Thanks for the trackback. Rich McIver, whose article spawned my series, made mention that companies are starting to accomodate employees with rest areas. It's a great idea. Nap time might make for a longer work day, but I'll bet it'll be more productive.
