Why You ARE Important
You have a huge responsibility when you work in customer service.  It’s the responsibility to give part of yourself to another person.  Whether you’re the auto mechanic fixing someone’s car or the owner of a gift shop, you are a thread in the patchwork of life.  You connect with others to contribute to the overall bigger picture.  

This concept may be hard for some to comprehend because many of us work in an environment where it’s “every man for himself”.  This leads us to believe that we shouldn’t give to our customers.  Give our heart.  Give love.  Offer a smile.  This stingy attitude manifests itself into health problems and issues with coworkers and customers.  

When you give part of yourself to your customers, you become an important part of making this world a better place to live.  A very small gesture of kindness could actually lead to peace on earth.  

Last week I watched the movie The Ultimate Gift and it really made me think about how each and every one of us plays a role in helping other people live better.  It’s a great movie and I highly recommend seeing it with your kids!  The movie inspired this post ;)

Remember that you ARE important no matter what you are doing!  Think about the bigger picture and know that all your efforts are not in vain...
