
Well, this article over at the Seattle Times says that supermarkets are realizing that their loyalty cards aren’t really counting for much in terms of keeping customers. However, they are working on ways to better understand their customer base and reward them for being loyal. This might include special discounts that other shoppers don’t get or invitations to special events in order to build a sense of community.
