I came across this article published by Harvard Business School (via Lifehacker) that can help you can stay motivated or keep your employees from losing the enthusiasm.
I like this piece of advice:
Instill an inspiring purpose. A critical condition for employee enthusiasm is a clear, credible, and inspiring organizational purpose: in effect, a "reason for being" that translates for workers into a "reason for being there" that goes above and beyond money.
What is your purpose? Do you know what the company you work for stands for? What are you doing to motivate your employees?

Frederick Herzberg's Hygiene-Motivation Theory speaks directly to this.
