I’m a Starbucks evangelist, however, I’ll even admit that I’m not a true loyal fan. In fact, Starbucks seems to be losing their appeal. Maybe it’s because I’m starting to feel like just another face in the line. Maybe it’s because the lady behind the counter still doesn’t know remember my name and I’ve been going to that Starbucks every other day for the past two weeks. (Well, I guess it’s a two way street because I don’t even know her name!) ![]()
Hey, I’m not the only one who’s feeling a bit weary of Starbucks...Read Mary Schmidt’s post, Hello Starbucks? I’m a Grown-Up.
So, today I ventured off and visited a local coffee shop in Lemoore called Rebekah’s Espresso. The motto is “Intimacy Over Coffee” and it’s a cozy little place with a fireplace in it! Well, with the warm, sunny weather we’re having in Cali right now, we don’t really need a fireplace, but it’s nice to know that there is one. Their coffee is from Ethiopia and mmmm - yummy!
Now, if only they could open up shop in San Diego...

My alternative (one of them) is a lovely little tea shop (which also serves wonderful coffee) about four doors down from one of the most popular (read crowded and noisy) Starbucks. Big comfy chairs, magazines, and quiet!
(I've also bought my coffee there and then gone and sat on the big Starbucks patio - bad, bad Mary! But the Starbucks line is so longgggggg.)
