1. Simple common courtesy and gratefulness in dealings with customers
2. Creating excitement and positivity around the identification and solving of problems
It’s amazing just how a few simple words can make for a happier customer. I don’t understand why it’s so hard for people to grasp that. Well, I do understand. It’s because people aren’t happy to begin with. However, #2 will help alleviate that unhappiness. Creating a foundation of positive energy in the workplace is one of the first steps to a happier and more successful business.
Here are some happiness affirmations I came across to help you out:
- I AM always kind and helpful to strangers.
- I spring out of bed with joy and excitement.
- I AM excited about the new day and look forward to it with anticipation and interest.
- I choose to be happy at the start of each day.
If you're an unhappy person right now, you'll need to say these affirmations to yourself over and over for at least 21 days in order for your subconscious to accept this as your reality. They say it takes 21 days to create a habit. Get in the habit of being happy! I guarantee that it works! Tell me your story...![]()
Oh, by the way, Terry "Starbucker" will be speaking at the SOBCon07 in Chicago!

Hi Maria, thanks for the link, and the mention of SOBCon07. I always knew words of gratitude were important in business and in society in general, but it took my recent road trip and review of our customer feedback to really hammer it home. It's so elegantly simple! All the best, and I hope you can come out to Chicago for the conference.
