“Poor customer service has no place in a small business, but luckily, it can be remedied with one simple solution. If you don’t like to work for or deal with people, then don’t get a job that involves striving for customer satisfaction. Instead, become a postal worker.”
The thing is, no matter what job you are doing, you’re still working in a customer service capacity. Your actions do affect people and their satisfaction. I don’t care if you’re a violin player or a software programmer. A violin player wants to create beautiful music which in turn makes the listener happy and a software programmer wants the software to work smoothly so the customer will be more productive. Even as a postal worker you still have to deal with people and help them with their needs.
As I’ve said time and time again, when you’re doing something that you love and have a passion for, you’ll be much happier and will be more helpful towards others.
