It's been a good day of "Please" and "Thank you" over here in CustomersAreAlways Land. It started when I drove my parents to the airport this morning. When we arrived at the airport, the attendee asked if we needed any help unloading the luggage and I kindly said, "Yes, please." I drove home thinking about that little scene that may seem quite boring most people's perspectives, but it had a profound impact on the thoughts that came this morning...![]()
What if everyone said "Please"?
What if everyone said "Thank you"?
How much happier and more helpful would the world be if people were just nicer?
Just stop and ponder that for a moment. Pretty darn amazing, eh?
Yes, these simple words are common courtesy, yet fewer and fewer people do it nowadays. Hmmmm...Isn't that somethin'?
When I arrived home I visited Liz Strauss who tells us her Please and Thank you story and points to Ben McConnell's post about a law firm who is teaching their partners how to say "Please" and "Thank you". Hmmm...Isn't that somethin'?
Are your employees saying "Please" and "Thank you"?
