Damon of Damon’s Details talks about whether or not CEOs should blog and his first statement is:
I somewhat disagree on this because I feel that CEOs are the ones who set the tone and culture of the company. I like to know what’s going on in the CEO’s mind. I want to know what they have planned for the company. ![]()
However, the only time I think a CEO should not blog is if the CEO is incompetent. I don’t want to know how much of a jerk he/she is or how he/she wants to take over the industry. That’s the only time I say that a company should leave the blogging to other executives or consumer advocates within the company.
With that said, I also feel that the CEO should not be the only one blogging for the company. Employees from all departments should be represented in the blog. Prime example: Southwest Airlines.
Your thoughts?

Maria,
I don't think the CEO should blog unless he or she can communicate successfully in writing. many fine CEO's just don't write that well. Second, the CEO should want to blog; not see it as an "other duty as assigned."
But I do agree that not enough CEO's are blogging.

Glenn
