According to this article over at EarthTimes, retailers lost quite a bit of sales this past holiday season because of poor customer service or confusing store layouts.  What’s also interesting is that people are no longer influenced by all the fancy-schmansy advertising and marketing that companies do to get people to come into the stores.  You can slash prices, but if your employees are mean and nasty, you can bet your dollar that those customers aren’t going to return - even if you did offer them 70% off!
