Devoted to customer service and the principles of exceptional customer services

Tom Vander Well of QAQnA has a great post about the value of knowing your customers.  His post made me think about the bigger picture - that business is the art of creating relationships.  People aren’t looking for “one night stands” anymore.  (Sorry, couldn’t think of a better analogy) People want to be courted and wooed.  Gone are the days of wham, bam, thank you, ma’am.  They want you to get to know them and if you open yourself up to them, they will open up to you too! 

The thing is - getting to know your customer is so simple!  You can start with asking them what their name is.  It’s amazing how much more relaxed and comfortable a customer will become when you know them by name.
