According to the U.S. Department of State, there was an estimated 85.24 million Filipinos in the United States as of 2005 and the number is expected to grow, of course. Here in San Diego alone, I know there are many, many Filipinos. The reason I bring this up is because Meikah of Custserv talks about what things businesses should keep in mind when selling to Filipinos. Being Filipino myself, I thought Meikah’s list was interesting. Although it described me, I think that any person who values customer service would feel the same way. ![]()
On a side note, I’ll offer a little tip for those who work with many Filipino customers... Learn a few Filipino phrases and you’re in like the family ;)
Check out Meikah’s suggestions...
Update: I had to scratch out some of this post until I can find the right information! I did quite a bit of reading when I trying to write this up and apparently my facts got jumbled! Ooops... forgive me ;) Thanks to "Al" for pointing this out...(Read his comment below..)

85.4 million is the total population of the Republic of the Philipines, NOT the number of Filipnos in the US. How can you get such a simple fact so messed up? With the populatin of the US at 300 million, do you realize just how much of a percentage 85.4 of 300 would be?
