My brother and I headed to the mall today to do some after-Christmas sale browsing and decided to stop at a Starbucks in Hanford, California. Hanford is about a ten minute drive from where my father lives and is situated among farms and fields of agriculture. It’s one of those towns where the pace is slow…![]()
In Starbucks there wasn’t a line to order, but from the looks of the people standing around, there seemed to be a wait to get your order. Obviously the barista didn’t have her coffee this morning!
My brother who comes from the “big city” of San Francisco said to me, “Slow service, huh?” I rationalized that perhaps the slow service was due to the slow pace of the town. I know I’m pretty slow moving myself, but this barista was suuuper slow!
What do you think….Does a slow town = slow service?

I think you're right Maria. I know I've seen this difference in slower locales. In fact, I've been places where they remind you to slow down, because it is a vacation town. I still prefer my coffee hot though!
