“Patience and assurance that they will be in good hands is key.”
I used to work for a tour company as an airline reservation agent and I would get tons of different questions a day. I would be asked “What type of airplane is it?” to “How big is the airport?” and “Are there any hotels near the airport?” - so it is also good to be knowledgeable not only about airline policies, but all the other details that are part of traveling.
However, yes, having patience is definitely a big part of the job (as with any customer service position!) Taking a trip can be stressful for many people and assuring your customers that the company will take care of them every step of the way is definitely key.
