Today I wanted to check out the newly renovated mall here in San Francisco, but it’s pouring cats and dogs (where the heck did that phrase come from?) out there, so I decided to venture into cyberspace for my shopping today. Part of me doesn’t really like shopping online because I like to try stuff on before I purchase. However, more retailers are making it easier to shop online. So, I thought I’d share my little tips to help those of you who offer products online:![]()
- Offer a flexible shipping policy. Many people will buy two sizes and want to send back the one that doesn’t fit. Do you offer the option of free shipping on the product that doesn’t fit? Refer to my previous post about Zappos.com - a great example!
- Offer live chat. Some people need a little bit of hand-holding through the buying process. This creates trust between you and your customer and lets them know that you really care about helping them with their needs. If you are easily accessible to answer questions, the more likely you will have a sale!
Have any tips to share?
