It Doesn't Cost a Thing to Smile...

Start off the day with a smile.  That’s what I do every day and I recommend this to everyone!  There’s a line from an India Arie song titled “There’s Hope” that came as a reminder today:

There's hope
It doesn't cost a thing to smile
You don't have to pay to laugh

Isn’t that the first thing you do when you greet a customer - smile?  If you’re a manager reading this, here are some tips get your employees to smile:
  • Give them a handwritten note thanking them for all their hard work
  • Post funny cartoons in the backroom or email everyone with a funny story to start off the day
  • Bring donuts or goodies to work.  I don’t know about you, but food always puts a smile on my face!
These are small gestures, but can send huge bursts of positive energy to your employees!
