How Do You Build Your Customer Relationships?
Call me an information junkie, but I am big on subscribing to newsletters that come from people of interest.  One list that I recently subscribed to is Andrea J. Lee’s Money, Meaning, and Beyond and today I received my first issue in the series “The 5 Keys to Making Money AND Meaning, Sustainably”.  Can you guess what Andrea says the first key is?

Key #1: Understand FULLY that building a business is about building relationships.

Let’s repeat that again for those who still don‘t understand...

Key #1: Understand FULLY that building a business is about building
relationships.

I have friends in business who ask me, “I can’t get my business off the ground!  What am I doing wrong?”

To which I ask:
  • Are you out meeting people and telling them about your business?
  • When you do meet people, do you have a way of staying in touch with them?
  • Do you find something that you have in common with a person you have just met?
When you think about your potential customers, don’t actually think of them as potential customers per se, but think of them as potential friends who you can bond with and share information with.  Don’t think of it as “servicing” them, but think of it as “sharing” with them.

How do you build your relationships?

I was walking on Cornell RD about 4:45am on Tuesday morning and their was alot of water in the curb next to the sidewalk and your driver that came up behind me and had plenty of time to see me and the water next to the sidewalk did not move over to the next lane away from the water like other cars and trucks did because they saw a person on the sidewalk next to alot of standing water he chose to splash me and I had to go back home and change clothes and whitch made me verylate for work myself I actually think your driver did this to be funny, because everyone else who saw the water and me moved over to the next lane, you have no idea how upset I was,I would apreciate a responce to this matter soon thanks yours truly MR.Darrol Strange Pnone number (503) 648-6094 after 5pm

One great message I learned from Bob Proctor,
author of 'Science of Getting Rich' is:

"Earning money has to do with rendering
service. And the more service you render,
the more money you're going to earn.

So just focus on servicing the customer.
