Speaking of iStockphoto... “Kempton” of Kempton’s Blog announced an interview with Bruce Livingstone, the founder and CEO of iStockphoto.com. A case study of the company will be posted soon (I think) at Startup Review. Startup Review is a great blog which has in-depth profiles of online companies.
Do you have an iStockphoto.com story to share?

Hi Maria,
I've used iStockphoto for years for my image and graphic needs, etc.
On the purchasing/licensee side, I have to say their site is truly an absolute winner when it comes to functionality and information, as well as the ability to communicate with content providers.
I don't think I've ever had a problem with support. One time, the site was down, so I called their toll-free number and was connected with a person promptly who explained the problem.
As far as the approval process, which is what the complaint you've cited deals with, I do know they are particularly stringent with "new" contributors, and because of that there is a hump of time before your photos are approved or rejected.
iStockphoto essentially wears two hats, where it has to cater to existing contributor needs as well as customer/licensee demands, so I think first time contributors in the approval queue tend to get less attention.
However, having said that I would certainly encourage you to submit your beautiful photography!
