Sometimes it does seem that we’re still eons away from receiving great service, but a quote from Ghandi rings in my mind...
“Be the change that you want to see in the world.”
I’m a firm believer that whatever “the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve”. The people that you hire must be inspired to provide great service. They must think it. They must want it too. This is probably why investments in customer service training isn't working.
It starts with you. Is it your goal to offer your customers phenomenal service? If it isn’t your goal, how can you expect it to be the goal of your employees?
