Friendships start off by talking with each other and getting to know
the background of a person - where they grew up, their likes and dislikes, favorite sports, etc. After a conversation or two you start to realize how much you have in common (or not). Engaging in conversation with your customer isn’t such a bad idea, you know...One of the managers at Starbucks started a conversation with me not too long ago and we find out that we have a similar interest in online marketing and e-business. Now we share information via email and have reached a level where I can now call him a “friend”.
