When I worked at Nordstrom we kept a list of all the stores in the mall along with the phone numbers. Not to mention we had the white and yellow pages handy. I can’t speak for all of my former co-workers, but if a customer came in looking for something that we didn’t carry and I knew of a place that did, I would call the business right then and there to double check for the customer. Also, if I knew that we would be receiving a similar item that they were looking for, I would get their name and number to call them when that item came in.
