For a customer service rep that has been working in the same position for quite some time, the job can sometimes get boring. Servicing customers day after day after day does get tiring - especially if the person is not self-motivating. Also, after awhile a person tends to forget what their mission or role is within the company. If you’re a manager or business owner, that’s why it’s important to communicate with your team members on a consistent basis.
When I was a manager at Wet Seal, I would have what I called a “five minute rap” with every employee before the start of the shift. I would let them know of their goals and duties for that day as well as remind them of our customer service standards.
What methods are you using to communicate with your team?
