
A reader brought up a good question in response to my post about why your company should have a blog....
“...In your example of a business' web server going down, aren't you assuming that everyone knows that you have a blog?”
Incidentally, Meikah of Custserv had an experience in which she was
trying to upload some pictures on Photobucket, but was given a notice that the company was doing some emergency maintenance. Users were directed to their blog where they were told what was going on with the site.
I understand that there are still many people are out there that have no idea what a blog is. If you are a website owner perhaps you can have your tech team code in a message/link to communicate to customers where they can find information regarding any error message to comes up.
