We talk about how "Thank You" and "Please" aren't heard very much in interactions nowadays, whether it's the customer service rep saying it to the customer or vice versa. Today as I went through the drive thru of Popeye's Chicken, the girl took my order and I said, "Thank you!" She replied with "You're Welcome!" with such joy that I thought, Wow - don't hear that much anymore either... Contrast that with a recent drive-thru experience at McDonald's in which the reply to my "Thank You!" was "Yup!"
