As I’m browsing through the news headlines looking for good customer service tales, I keep running into stories such as “Companies Receive Poor Grades For Customer Service” , “Poor Customer Service....” , and “Customer Service With a Snarl”.
When did customer service start turning for the worse?
Has customer service changed at all or has it always been this way? As a child, I never really paid attention to my experiences in stores - as long as mom bought what I wanted - that’s all that mattered to me ;) In my 20’s I never really experienced anything noteworthy in terms of customer service (that was in the 90’s). But now...now I’m really beginning to pay attention.
I’d love to hear your stories of customer service in the “good ole days” if you lived during the 1950’s-70’s. Were people nicer back then?
