I found out via the CRM Mastery E-Journal that Jonathan Schwartz is the only Fortune 500 CEO to blog. Very interesting, eh? Also, a very interesting article at The New York Times, "All the Internet's a Stage. Why Don't C.E.O.'s Use It?" where Schwartz is quoted as saying:
“My No. 1 job is to be a communicator. I don’t understand how a CEO would not blog if committed to open communication.”
I also like this line from a recent post by Schwartz:
"Focus on the value of broad based talent as a competitive weapon, don't be distracted by cost reducing labor. " Smart man, indeed!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it the job of the CEO to be in touch with what the customers are doing on a daily basis? Yes, I know, in reality many CEO's probably don't "have time" for stuff like blogging. Blogging - what? Perhaps they still can't "measure" the ROI on blogging. They have much more important things to do like collecting their millions for sitting behind a desk and barking orders. Excuse my bitterness.
The Church of the Customer Blog also asks "Why don't CEOs blog?"
