Dell's Recall on Batteries

Dell’s first step in looking good in the eyes of the customer: Recall On Batteries. I saw the news headline while standing in line at the grocery store. Of course, the cynical side of me has to wonder if the company would have done this had they not been on this crusade to win their customers back.

So, for those of you wondering if you are one of those customers with a faulty battery, Dell has set up a website for more information: https://www.dellbatteryprogram.com/ You may want to check out their website before you call in as the company has been inundated with thousands of phone calls.

In other Dell (DELL)news I came across this article which says that the ACSI (American Customer Satisfaction Index) for Dell has increased by 5.4% over last year. Last year’s score was 74 out of 100 and this year’s score is 78.  Also, for those of you keeping track of Dell's stock, you'll be happy to know that it's going up...

Dell is in a painful spot. I would hardly recommend their stock. I bought a laptop from them and was lured by the 0% financing for 6 months deal. With an 800 FICO score, they turned me down for that offer after I made my purchase and stuck me with a 19% interest rate. I promptly wrote a check to pay for the balance, but got hit with $48.00 for one month. I already mailed in my class action suit claim form....

How do I find a customer complaint blog for Dell that they don't run? Dell pulled a sort of "bait and switch" on my father and overbilled him for a monitor by $200 and signed him up for credit with Dell when he didn't ask for credt. Basically, they've ruined his perfect credti score now and cost him over 100 hours of time trying to fix the problem. I'd love to get the word out to others and provide one more example of why Dell is in the mess they are today- falling sales and unhappy customers.

[...] I wish Dell great luck in turning around their service issues and talking to bloggers and their audiences is a great way to start. [...]
