
I received a call today from a friend who sounded exasperated and burnt out....
“This business can be a little nerve-wracking!” she exclaimed. She’s talking about the mental health care field - a field that I actually went to school for, but realized that I needed to get my issues figured out first before I could work on other people’s problems!
So anyways, my friend just started a board and care for mental health care patients and has had to talk with many social workers the past couple weeks. One social worker in particular just didn’t seem to care too much about her “clients” and it was tearing my friend apart. She figured that if you were going to work in the field, that you should actually be about trying to help people get better. Apparently this person did not care. This social worker was just going through the motions and seemed to have lost sight of what her mission was - if she had one to begin with. She was actually a disservice to her clients which caused my friend to become so frustrated.
Are you a disservice to your customers? Are you doing what you love? Are you following your bliss?
